Day Air Credit Union hires new Vice President – Lending
KETTERING, OH (August 12, 2016) — Day Air Credit Union has hired John Theobald as Vice President – Lending to oversee all lending- related areas for the credit union, including Consumer Lending, Mortgage Lending, Member Business Lending and Special Services. As a member of the senior management team, he will contribute to the strategic direction of the organization.
John returns to Day Air with more than 14 years of credit union and lending experience, which includes a successful previous stint leading the credit union’s mortgage lending business.
He rejoins Day Air from CU Appraisal Services (CUAS), where he served as the company’s President for the past three years. At CUAS, he conceptualized and implemented the first Appraisal Management Company CUSO (credit union service organization) in the country. He oversaw growth to over $6 million in annual revenue and began establishing a national network of credit union clients.
Previously, John served for nearly six years at Day Air. He started in 2007 as Mortgage Manager and was promoted as Director of Mortgage Services. Under his leadership, Day Air became a direct seller-servicer for Freddie Mac (FHLMC) and the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB), obtained Direct Endorsement from the Department of HUD, and introduced an in-house mortgage servicing platform.
Prior to that, John was a Mortgage Loan Originator at Wright-Patt Credit Union and was recognized as Top Originator by Mortgage Originator Magazine in 2006. There, he also served as a Member Center Supervisor, overseeing the daily operations at that credit union’s Norwood, Ohio branch.

John attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Phoenix. He also interned at Chaco Credit Union for two years.
