Day Air Credit Union provides over $75,000 in community support
KETTERING, OH (December 22, 2021) — Day Air Credit Union takes pride celebrating the annual holiday giving season with its Day Air family and members by partnering with organizations throughout the Miami Valley to provide support and financial education throughout the year. In 2021, Day Air was proud to help contribute more than $75,000 to support the local community, including numerous efforts to help make this holiday season a bit brighter. Day Air was honored to sponsor a 50/50 raffle with the Dayton Dragons Foundation benefitting Hannah’s Treasure Chest. The raffle resulted in more than $14,000 in donations to Hannah’s Treasure Chest, a children’s charity that distributes care packages of clothing, safety equipment, hygiene products, books, & toys to children in need. The Day Air Kettering Branch partnered with the City of Kettering to sponsor 16 children through the Kettering Giving Tree. The Giving Tree
is designed to help families in the Kettering School District that may not be able to provide gifts for their children.
The Day Air Centerville Branch sponsored five children through the Centerville City Schools Adopt a Family program. They provided families with gift cards, helping make their holiday season a little brighter. The Day Air Beavercreek Branch donated money to the Feed the Creek program. Feed the Creek provides food for students in the Beavercreek Public School system. This aids students on government assisted meal plans by providing easy-to-prepare meals to eat on the weekends when they are not at school.
The Day Air York Commons Branch donated to the Butler Township Christmas with a Cop program. Officers from Butler Township and the City of Vandalia assisted children in the community as they shopped for needed items for themselves and their immediate families. Day Air’s VA Branch donated gift bags filled with activities to the Community Living Center (CLC) at the Dayton VA Medical Center. The CLC is made up of two nursing homes on the VA campus: the Hospice Unit and the Memory Care Unit. The VA Branch also donated holiday gift bags to Veterans receiving dialysis.
“We put a lot of effort into our holiday gift giving donations to make sure everyone in the communities we serve can enjoy the holidays with their family,” said Bill Burke, President and CEO of Day Air Credit Union. “Credit unions are about people helping people. With the impact of the pandemic still prevalent in our communities, I am proud that our Day Air team is willing to give their time and resources to help families in need.”
Day Air was also a proud sponsor of the We Care Arts Cookie Walk where community members could pre-order their holiday cookies and pick them up through a socially distanced drive thru
