DefenseStorm recognized as the 2017 Cutting Edge Risk Management Solution by Cyber Defense Magazine
DefenseStorm is also named as a finalist for the Cybersecurity Excellence Award’s “Most Innovative” category
ATLANTA, GA (February 14, 2017) — DefenseStorm, a security data platform that watches everything on a financial institution’s network and matches the data to its policies, has been recognized as the “Cutting Edge Risk Management Solution” by Cyber Defense Magazine. Winners were announced at this year’s RSA Conference in San Francisco. Additionally, DefenseStorm was recently named a finalist in the “Most Innovative” category for this year’s Cybersecurity Excellence Awards.
Each year, Cyber Defense Magazine recognizes companies in numerous categories for their innovations in the field of information security. The magazine received submissions from several early stage and late stage startups, as well as public companies that offer solutions with a compelling value proposition. The judges are certified security professionals who vote based on their independent review of the company’s submission, which includes data sheets, white papers, product literature and other market variables.
“We’re thrilled to recognize next-generation innovation in the information security marketplace and that’s why DefenseStorm has earned this award from Cyber Defense Magazine. Some of the best InfoSec defenses come from these kinds of forward-thinking players who think outside of the box,” said Pierluigi Paganini, editor-in-chief of Cyber Defense Magazine.
The Cybersecurity Excellence Awards also honor individuals, products and companies that demonstrate excellence, innovation and leadership in information security. Winners and finalists for this award are selected based on the strength of their nomination via the popular vote by members of the security and tech community.
Since the company’s founding, DefenseStorm has garnered consistent recognition for its unified cybersecurity management solution. Unlike existing solutions, DefenseStorm is a cloud-based platform that includes network monitoring, incident response, policy governance, and real-time analytics in a single solution for the financial industry. The platform was built from the ground up, in the cloud, with proprietary Big Data technology and machine-learning algorithms that were not available to legacy vendors; which enables the system to work faster and provide comprehensive analysis tools. Additionally, DefenseStorm links cybersecurity policies to alerts, in real-time, so financial institutions can prove to regulators they are both secure and compliant with cybersecurity requirements.
“For today’s organizations, it’s not a matter of if you’ll be hacked, but a matter of when. This, combined with constantly evolving tactics of cybercriminals, means there is a huge need for a solution like DefenseStorm,” said Sean Feeney, CEO of DefenseStorm. “We are thrilled to be recognized by Cyber Defense Magazine and the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards. We plan to use this momentum to further innovate and help financial institutions take a proactive approach to security.”
DefenseStorm will accept their award from Cyber Defense Magazine onsite at this year’s RSA. The company is one of only 40 early stage startups selected to exhibit at this year’s RSA Early Stage Expo (booth ESE-13).
