Industry Professional Brings More than 25 Years of Experience And Deep Appreciation for Credit Union Mission
ATLANTA (January 6, 2015) – Delta Community Credit Union (www.DeltaCommunityCU.com), Georgia’s largest credit union with $4.7 billion in assets and more than 310,000 members, has named Timothy (Tim) L. Mitchell as its new Chief Information Officer. Mitchell, 52, will join Delta Community on February 1. He succeeds Bill Mesplay whom the Credit Union has chosen to serve as its first Senior Vice President of Remote Delivery, a new role dedicated to leading the strategic development of Delta Community’s member self-service channels, including ATMs, kiosks and online and mobile banking.
“We are excited to have Tim join us,” said Hank Halter, Chief Executive Officer. “Tim has extensive IT experience and an appreciation of the Credit Union service philosophy. He is also quite knowledgeable of Delta Community’s systems and operating environment since he has served as a member of our Supervisory Committee for the past eight years. This combination makes Tim uniquely qualified to maintain the high performance standards members enjoy today and to evolve our core systems to support a broader base of consumers tomorrow.”
“I feel privileged to have this opportunity,” Mitchell said. “Delta Community has such a positive, service-oriented corporate culture. I have banked with the Credit Union for more than 25 years and have benefited from the personalized care employees provide. Delta Community is also well positioned for continued growth. The Credit Union has the potential to reach and help other consumers around Atlanta, and I look forward to contributing to that success.”
Mitchell retired from Delta Air Lines in 2014 after 26 years of service. He held a number of senior roles during his tenure, including Chief Information Officer of Endeavor Air.
