DGI drives $8,000 fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey relief in Houston

Digital Growth Institute sets up donation page to provide funds for displace Houston area residents

HOUSTON, TX (August 30, 2017) — Hurricane Harvey has delivered more than 9 trillion gallons of water/rain to the Houston area – with more on the way. This catastrophic deluge has displaced thousands upon thousands of Houston area residents from their homes with few places to turn. It’s time to help.

Financial services digital marketing firm Digital Growth Institute (formerly CU Grow) has launched an $8,000 fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey relief, focusing on families needing assistance from the impact this storm has wrought in the southeastern part of Texas. There’s also a personal connection here, Digital Growth Institute and its staff all live in Houston and have seen the devastation first hand.

“I’ve lived through multiple hurricanes and tropical storms but I have never seen anything like what I’m watching unfold before now. In just three days, more than 9 trillion gallons of water fell on our city,” says Digital Growth Institute Founder and CEO James Robert Lay. “Fortunately, my family, our home, and our team are all safe and we’ve been spared damage. But it is not me that needs your help. Thousands of people and families throughout our community of Houston are hurting.”

As a result, Digital Growth Institute has set up a donation page on its website to collect and give $8,000 to area families, ensuring 100% of the donations go directly to supply Houston families in need of post-hurricane recovery with financial assistance for: food, water, diapers, wipes, clothing, repairs to flooded homes, and a safe place to stay for the displaced.

“As a father of four small children, I want to ease the financial burden and stress for Houston families in need. And together with you, we can help Houston families start to recover from the many losses they have experienced from Hurricane Harvey,” Lay adds. “In the meantime, please continue to keep the people and families of Houston in your thoughts and prayers.”

Digital Growth Institute has already hit $1,000 donated within 10 hours – 12.5% of the way there.
