San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®), has once again partnered with Scripps Health Foundation to sponsor the Scripps Diabetes Care & Prevention Programs facilitated through Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute (SWDI)—Southern California’s leading diabetes center of excellence, committed to providing the best evidence-based diabetes screening, education and patient care in San Diego County.
SWDI offers programs in patient self-management education, clinical research, community-based diabetes care, diabetes prevention, pragmatic retinal screenings and professional training and education. The partnership support will also allow SWDI to provide 500-700 diabetes education classes at several locations to serve diabetes care needs throughout the County.
“As a longtime partner of Scripps Health Foundation, SDCCU is proud to sponsor diabetes care and prevention programs that benefit thousands of patients throughout the County who are suffering from this disease,” said Teresa Halleck Campbell, president and CEO of SDCCU. “SDCCU is an engaged community partner and our philanthropic activities are aimed at promoting a vibrant, healthy and sustainable community. We are grateful for the good work Scripps Health is doing to achieve this aim.”
Scripps Health’s dedication to diabetes care has earned Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and Scripps Green Hospital recognition as San Diego’s best hospitals for diabetes and endocrinology medicine by U.S. News and World Report.
