Diamond Credit Union employees take to the lanes at the Bowl For Kids’ Sake

POTTSTOWN, PA (April 26, 2016) — On Saturday, April 23, two teams of Diamond Credit Union employees participated in the annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake at Berks Lanes. The event benefited Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, which is very close to the hearts of many Diamond employees. Diamond has been participating in the fundraiser for over ten years, and Eric Russell and Edwin Pardo have been leading the initiative for two years now. These two volunteers rally the rest of the Diamond staff to participate and raise money. In 2016, they raised over $650 for this worthy cause.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters is such a great organization because they pair children who need a positive role model with caring, responsible adults who can support them one-on-one. I know from my experience as a Big Brother that these relationships are truly valuable and can change a child’s life for the better, forever,” stated Edwin Pardo, Diamond CU Member Advocate and Bowl For Kids’ Team Leader.

“It’s part of our core values at Diamond CU to give back to the local community and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County is exactly the kind of inspiring organization we like to support. I’m happy that I work for a company that supports Edwin and I in leading this fun event and supporting an important cause,” stated Eric Russell, Diamond CU Membership Officer and Bowl For Kid’s Team Leader.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County will use the money raised at the Bowl For Kids’ Sake to ensure child safety with background checks for volunteers and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build long-lasting positive relationships. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County truly changes lives forever.
