RICHMOND, VA (July 10, 2023) — Dominion Energy Credit Union is pleased to announce the selection of Afua Essandoh as the Credit Union’s new President/Chief Executive Officer. “Continuing our mission of improving the financial well-being of our members is paramount,” said Ed Baine, Board Chair. “We have a lot of confidence in Afua and look forward to working together to continue delivering on our mission”.
Prior to accepting the role of CEO of Dominion Energy Credit Union, Afua served as the Senior Vice President – Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Blue Ridge Bank, a $3.3 billion bank located in Richmond, Virginia. She has expertise in strategic planning, asset/liability management, liquidity and capital management, financial planning and analysis, and executive leadership and experience in branch operations and human resources. Afua received her bachelor’s degree from Concordia College, Moorhead and holds an MBA from University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business.
Afua will succeed Michael Swalley, who after 33 years of service as the Credit Union’s President/CEO, plans to retire November 1.
