Donald C. Gillespie named new CrossRoads Financial Federal CU CEO

Donald C. Gillespie will assume leadership of CrossRoads Financial Federal Credit Union (CrossRoads) on January 1, 2020, succeeding Janet E. Bantz, who is retiring. Gillespie is no stranger to the credit union. He has served as Senior Loan Officer and Credit Union Financial Counselor at CrossRoads since 2011.  Donald came to CrossRoads with over 23 years of bank lending and management experience.

Gillespie has a Degree in Finance/Economics and Political Science from the University of Indianapolis. In addition to serving in the Loan Department for over 9,000 Credit Union members, he has served as City Court Judge of Portland for ten years.  Recently, he was chosen to mentor incoming City Court Judges by the Indiana Association of City and Town Court Judges.   Donald is a participant in the Indiana Run for the Fallen and was National Coordinator of Runners for the 2018 Run Across America. He was named Citizen of the Year at the Jay County Chamber 2018 Community Awards.

Gillespie has served on many community boards, including the City Park Board and the Jay County Fair Board where he served 19 years. He currently serves as an advisor and mentor to the CrossRoads Youth Advisory Board.

“The Board Members and I are happy to announce Donald Gillespie as the future President and CEO,” said Joday Auker, CrossRoads Board Chair. “Donald has been a part of the CrossRoads team and during that time he has demonstrated his leadership qualities and dedication to services for the credit union members. He has the education, experience and qualities necessary to lead the credit union into the future.”

“I am honored to be named as the successor of Janet E. Bantz and to serve as the credit union’s next CEO,” said Gillespie. “Janet has guided the staff and credit union successfully for the past 31 years, and her dedicated efforts have benefited the members and positioned us for the future. We will continue to follow our mission of helping members meet their financial needs and improving the communities we serve as we guide the credit union into the future.”
