FLINT, MI— Dort Federal Credit Union members and staff raised over $16,000 during their annual holiday “Make a Snowman Smile” campaign. During the campaign members and staff purchased snowmen for $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, $25.00, and $50.00. The charitable recipients were the North End Soup Kitchen, Whaley’s Children’s Center, and Zoie Sky. This year’s proceeds were divided between the three groups who each received more than $5,000. During the six week campaign all Dort Federal offices collected contributions for the two local charities. For more information on this year’s charities, go to www.dortonline.org/snowmen.
Vicki Hawkins, Dort Federal’s President/CEO said, “Every year we are humbled by the generosity of our members and staff. In this tough economy, we are reminded that people are still committed to helping their fellow citizens and have a deep willingness to give back to the community.”
Dort Federal membership is open to anyone who lives, works, attends school, worships, or volunteers in Genesee, Lapeer, or Shiawassee County, or Deerfield and Tyrone Townships in Livingston County.
