NAPERVILLE, IL (August 21, 2014) -- Nearly two dozen DuPage Credit Union Team Members and their families took part in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life earlier this month in Lisle; raising over $5,000 in donations and awareness for this worthwhile cause.
Throughout 2014, Team Members raised funds through an in-house Snack Center, luminaire and pastry sales, personal fund-raising efforts and Member donations. Their efforts helped the Credit Union reach the Silver Fundraising Level.
“Many of our Team Members have been touched by cancer in one way or another,” said Vice President of Business Solutions, Amy Brandt. “So participating in this annual event and raising funds to help find a cure, is something we feel very strongly about.”
During the Relay for Life, the Credit Union’s Vice President of Loan Sales, Gail Mosher, was recognized by the American Cancer Society for raising over $1,300 and reaching the Individual Jade Fundraising Level.
“It just makes you feel good inside, to know you had a little part in making that (event total donations) happen,” Mosher said about her participation in the event.
The I-88 Corporate Relay for Life, presented by Edward Hospital, raised over $87,600.
