DuPage Credit Union team members recently donated supplies to help families assisted by the Metropolitan Family Services in Wheaton.
Team members were happy to make donations of items most needed by the shelter; including diapers, pajamas, blankets and toilet paper to name a few.
“I believe in helping whenever I can,” said Jennifer Modiest, the credit union’s Contact Center Manager, on why she helped with this in-house drive. “My parents always told me that we may not be able to give a lot, but what we are able to give, we should.”
The initiative was spearheaded by the credit union’s Community Development Manager, Pamela Niestrom, as part of her service project for the Global Women’s Leadership Network to help promote and celebrate International Women’s Day.
“It’s a way to give back to our community,” she said. “Credit unions are all about, “people helping people” and what better way than to help those, in need, next door.
