Dutch Point Credit Union and MiddConn Federal Credit Union declare merger plans
WETHERSFIELD, CT (September 28, 2016) — Francis Proto, President and CEO of Dutch Point Credit Union, Inc., and Barbara Thorpe, CEO of MiddConn Federal Credit Union, are pleased to report that the members of MiddConn Federal Credit Union, Middletown, CT voted in favor of merging into Dutch Point Credit Union. MiddConn FCU members officially approved the merger at a Special Meeting held on July 25th, 2016. The merger was previously approved by both the Federal and State regulators. The combined credit unions will serve approximately 23,500 members and have assets in excess of $280 million.
Proto, said, “We are thrilled the members of MiddConn voted in favor of the merger and look forward to their arrival. Our credit unions truly share and are guided by the same member-first principle. With the merger, we will now have a branch presence in Middlesex county to effectively serve both MiddConn and Dutch Point members living in those towns.”

Upon completion of the merger Dutch Point will have seven community branch locations with its main office located at 195 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, CT.
