Fresno, CA (May 13, 2025) |
Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) is honored to announce its sponsorship of the 21st Annual Slick Rock Student Film Festival, Central California’s premier film competition for middle and high school students. Organized by the Tulare County Office of Education, the festival celebrates youth creativity and storytelling across seven counties: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, and Tulare.
The 2025 festival culminated in a red-carpet awards ceremony on May 9 at the historic Visalia Fox Theatre, where winners were announced in categories ranging from documentaries and music videos to public service announcements and blockbusters.
“As the premier student film festival in the Central Valley, we’re proud to showcase the work of more than 850 students from schools across Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, and Tulare counties,” said Kathleen Green-Martins, coordinator of the Slick Rock Student Film Festival. “We’re incredibly grateful for the support of community partners like EECU, which allows us to create a memorable red-carpet experience for these talented students.”
Each year, the festival receives 400 to 500 submissions from students who utilize a variety of technologies to craft compelling narratives. The event not only showcases student talent, but also offers them a taste of the film industry experience, complete with limo arrivals and a red-carpet walk.
EECU is proud to support this impactful student film festival, celebrating the creativity and voices of young filmmakers from sixth grade through high school.
