Eighth annual Drive, Drop & Donate shred & electronic recycle event to benefit DuPage County students in need

Recycle electronics and shred sensitive documents during DuPage Credit Union’s Eighth Annual Drive, Drop & Donate event to benefit DuPage County students in need Friday, June 18th at its Naperville Operations Center, 1515 Bond Street.

Electronic Recycling and Document Shredding provided by Citadel:

  • Electronic Recycling – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sensitive Document Shredding – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The donation to shred or recycle is $10 per service, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Credit Union’s We’ve Got Your Back fundraiser to help local students in need. Both cash and credit will be accepted; please place cash in an envelope.

For your safety and the safety of the credit union team, those dropping off items are asked to please remain in their vehicles and have recyclables in their trunks.

“As a result of spending the last year and a half remote and hybrid learning, it’s important for students to easily transition back to in-person learning with the supplies they need to succeed,” said Vice President of Business Solutions Amy Brandt. “The pandemic hit a lot of families hard, and we’re hoping to help lessen their financial burden by providing these essential supplies.”

“We’ll be here, come rain or shine,” Brandt added.

Last year, the credit union raised nearly $6,500 during its Drive, Drop & Donate event.

One hundred percent of the funds raised will be used to purchase supply kits and backpacks.  The supplies will be given out to students before the start of the 2021-2022 school year at the annual Back to School Fair held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on August 4th.

Once again, the Rusin Fulco Group is the sponsor of Drive, Drop & Donate. To learn more, view a list of acceptable items or to make a donation online, visit dupagecu.com/DDD.
