Social purpose community outreach event Spring Break at The Movies 2024

EL PASO, TX (April 5, 2024) — evolve FCU hosted its annual Spring break at the movies event throughout the month of March. For the past three years evolve has hosted private movie screenings for some of the local children’s organizations. This year was no exception as evolve was able to host seven private screenings at Cinemark throughout the month of March. Each screening included up to 50 movie tickets with a Refreshment drink, popcorn and a candy of choice for each person. The film that was shown for the screenings Kung Fu Panda 4.

The first Spring Break at the movies screening kicked off with two screenings on Mach 12th with the Center Against Sexual and Family Violence and the El Paso Children Miracle Network. On March 13th the third screening took place where the Child Crisis Center took their little ones for a great time at the movies. On March 16th the families from Candlelighters enjoyed their screening, and on March 30th the last two screenings took place where the bigs and littles from Big Brothers Big Sisters and the families and children from Make-A-Wish enjoyed their own movie screenings, respectively. The bigs and littles loved it, and the families were very grateful for the private screenings as they don’t get to do outings like that often. It was a perfect way to end the month and enjoy the Easter weekend.

For many of the kids that attended these private screenings, it was their first time attending a movie theater because for many of these families, it is out of their financial means or some of the children need special care due to medical reasons. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful staff at Cinemark Cielo Vista 14 & XD, their corporate offices and the management and amazing staff at the theater.

Mike Navarrette, a cottage parent from the Lee and Beulah Moor Children’s Home stated, “Man you guys go all out for the kids! Thank you for everything you all do for them. We still remember all the baseball games evolve took us to.”

As evolve continues its social purpose for 2024, they look forward to continuing to create new and cheerful memories for the children of the El Paso community.
