Excel Federal Credit Union received community charter expansion approval

EXCEL Federal Credit Union has announced today it has received approval of its community charter expansion application by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). This approval will expand its field of membership to now serve “persons who live, work, worship, attend school, volunteer or conduct business in Gwinnett, Hall, Forsyth and Fulton counties, Georgia.”

Founded in 1952 as Atlanta GSA Federal Credit Union to serve the federal government employees of the General Services Administration, the credit union now serves more than 14,500 members in the metro Atlanta area.

“This is an exciting time for the credit union,” said Tom Hayden, CEO of Excel FCU. “We are now able to bring our exceptional financial services to the communities which we call home.”

The decision to expand Excel FCU’s charter was made based on its ability to meet the financial service needs of a larger footprint. The credit union offers a variety of competitively positioned products, extensive digital services including online and SMS loan applications, a national network of ATMs, and full service branch locations in the metro Atlanta area.
