The radio program is an opportunity for presidents and chief financial officers of companies to share the lessons learned, challenges faced, and the sacrifices made for their careers. Schwartz was interested to learn how Market got started in the financial industry, his upbringing and how it relates to what he does today, what he enjoys most about working at the credit union, and what changes he has witnessed in the industry. Market’s career in financial institutions spans more than two decades. Starting as a teller in 1985, he learned the importance of the front-line branch staff and branch operations. In 1987, he began working at TruMark Financial as a branch manager and in 1989 was promoted to chief financial officer. As the chief financial officer, Market monitors and reports the effects of interest rates, asset quality, and regulatory issues in the credit union. Working behind the scenes, Market said he often misses the interaction with the members.
