Financial education program for Florida Education Association members through Suncoast Credit Union announced

TALLAHASSEE, FL (April 8, 2021)

Creative Benefits for Educators (CBE) announces a joint marketing agreement and partnership with Suncoast Credit Union. Suncoast will provide financial guidance and planning, presented through virtual and in-person financial education workshops, seminars and webinars. Through this partnership, Suncoast will also provide individual planning for the 150,000+ Florida Education Association (FEA) members, launching in May 2021.

CBE’s mission is to make it easy for teachers and education staff professionals to find quality insurance and financial services at affordable prices. In a year that saw unprecedented challenges, including financial stresses, education and support can make an important difference now and in one’s financial future, which is part of the Suncoast Credit Union mission.

Under the terms of the agreement, Suncoast Credit Union is recognized as the preferred resource for retirement and financial planning for FEA’s members. Suncoast will provide quality, professional and trusted financial planning* and financial education for FEA members statewide ensuring viable and healthy financial products and services are available to the backbone of the education community. The program will launch in May, offering complimentary virtual financial workshops, and simultaneously, educators can access financial planning with Suncoast representatives one-on-one, throughout the multi-year agreement.

“For Suncoast, this puts us square in the middle of our original charter, helping educators access important financial resources to secure their current and future needs,” said Kevin Johnson, President and CEO, Suncoast Credit Union. “And as part of our DNA, this agreement symbolizes the importance of our Mission and our commitment to FEA members, all of whom work in the public schools, colleges and universities as teachers, faculty and support professionals.”

As Chair of CBE Advisory Council, Pat Barber added her support stating “I was thrilled to hear that Suncoast Credit Union was being recommended to partner with Creative Benefits for Educators. Suncoast is well-known and well-respected among educators in the communities they serve and I look forward to working closely with them as the provider of financial planning and financial education to the members of FEA.”
