Financial Plus Credit Union Taps Dwolla for Children’s Miracle Network Fundraiser
(Des Moines, Iowa – December 21, 2011) Financial Plus Credit Union (FPCU), the first financial institution to use Dwolla for charitable donations, is leveraging the online, mobile, social and location-based payments tool to inspire a boost in community giving.
FPCU is making a year-end effort to raise an additional $1,000 for Children’s Miracle Network and believes adding Dwolla to the effort will reach the online community, increasing donations for the influential children’s organization.
By giving customers the ability to donate from their homes, offices or anywhere in between, FPCU believes donations will increase. This is the first time FPCU has incorporated a way to give online.
“Dwolla allows users to send and receive money in an incredibly quick and convenient way. People can now take a break from online holiday shopping to support the local startup business and donate to a miracle-making charity with just one click,” said Dave Cale, FPCU CEO.
In addition to giving donors a convenient option, Dwolla also comes with an affordable price. All transactions $10 and under are free, and anything above $10 costs only 25 cents.
