Firefly Credit Union® recognizes several outstanding employees

BURNSVILLE, MN (February 28, 2020) — Firefly Credit Union staff attended the third annual Illumie Awards at the JW Marriott in Bloomington. The annual event serves as an all-staff collaboration and recognition event where the Employee of the Year and four Core Value Award winners are honored.

The employee recognition program at Firefly Credit Union, Pay It Forward, identifies employees who have provided exceptional service to members, co-workers, and the credit union as a whole. In this program, employees who have stepped up to a level of service outside of their job description are nominated for the Shining Star award. These employees are then entered into the pool of nominees for Employee of the Year.

Emily Goetz, Teller Supervisor at the Chanhassen branch, was named the 2019 Employee of the Year. Goetz was nominated for a Shining Star award for living out Firefly’s core values every day. She is a team player, evidenced by her willingness to come into the branch on a day off to make sure systems were operating smoothly after a power outage. In addition to helping out on her day off, she also assists other branches with questions, even when her own branch is short-staffed. Through everything, she maintains a positive attitude and always strives to find solutions and answers for members.

In addition to the Employee of the Year, Firefly recognized four individuals with a Core Value award. Firefly’s core values are the foundation of the organization and are at the forefront of everything they do. The following employees were recognized as the Core Value Award winners:

Sadia Svedberg, Respect – earn the trust of others
Samantha Bukosky, Collaboration & Teamwork – be accountable for what you do
Lori Schaetzka, Adaptability – find the “yes” in every situation
Heather Erickson, Hard Work – make a positive difference every day

“These employees are a shining example of exceptional member service,” said Firefly Credit Union President/CEO, Dale Turner. “We are proud to have incredible employees who are dedicated to living out our core values every day and helping to provide the level of service that sets Firefly apart.”

Emily Goetz was named Firefly’s 2019 Employee of the Year.
