First Capital FCU hires new VP of IT

York, PA (January 29, 2014) - First Capital Federal Credit Union has hired Charles (Chuck) Burkhardt II as its new Vice President of Information Technology.  Burkhardt comes to First Capital from the York Newspaper Company, where he spent the last 31 years.  Burkhardt started as the Systems Manager, installing and maintaining York Dispatch’s first newspaper circulation system.  He was promoted to Business Systems Manager in 1984 and finally to the Director of Information Systems in 2001.  During his many years with the company Burkhardt supported 850 users at 21 sites across the country.

In his new position at First Capital, Burkhardt oversees the Credit Union’s technology infrastructure and information system tools.  He also helps develop short and long-term technology objectives to provide efficient and cost-effective tools for the credit union staff and its members.

On a personal note, Chuck was born and raised in York County.  He’s been married to Carmen for 40 years.  He is the father to three children and has two grandchildren.
