First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union announces financial literacy partnership with the Allentown School District

ALLENTOWN, PA (June 2, 2023) — Reaffirming its commitment to strengthening and investing in its communities, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union is proud to announce a new partnership with Raub Middle School and the Allentown School District to support students on a path to financial literacy.

Through its WeThrive Foundation, First Commonwealth FCU committed $100,000 over three years to Raub Middle School to be used to provide financial education to 8th grade students and their families. “The partnership with Raub Middle School is driven by their alignment with our purpose. First Commonwealth’s mission ‘to empower the pursuit of financial happiness’ provides us with a unique opportunity to support students, family, and staff with access to Financial Wellness resources and affordable products and services,” said James Gagliano, Chief Experience Officer for First Commonwealth & Executive Sponsor of its WeThrive Foundation.

Additionally, funding from First Commonwealth will provide financial support for reading incentives, after-school programming, funding for the school store, and support of student events such as the 8th grade dance and 8th grade graduation.

“It is truly a privilege to be positioned to give back in such a significant way – a three-year commitment of time, staff, and resources. At First Commonwealth, we have over 50 certified Financial Wellness Counselors who will offer personalized financial wellness workshops and will be at-the-ready to support the Raub community through this impactful initiative,” said Donna LoStocco, President & CEO of First Commonwealth.

“The Raub Raven Learning Community is super excited to establish this new partnership with First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union,” said Jose Delgado, Raub Middle School Principal. “The three-year commitment, will allow us to build on the strengths of our community and continue to foster a nurturing and welcoming environment.
