The FirstCap Gives Back Foundation raised more than $3,600 during this year’s Give Local York. This 24-hour day of giving was held from 7 p.m. on April 30 – 7 p.m. on May 1, 2026, and raised over $6 million to support 324 nonprofits across York County.
As part of its Give Local York efforts, First Capital Federal Credit Union also supported participating organizations through targeted giving initiatives. The credit union awarded a $500 Financial Literacy Prize to The Advantage Program, a randomly selected nonprofit providing financial education and literacy programming. In addition, during the 7 AM hour on May 1, donations made to eligible preferred business partner nonprofits were matched $1 for $1, up to $500. And, donations made to the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation were also matched $1 for $1 up to the first $500 throughout the entire giving event.
In addition to fundraising efforts, First Capital participated in the Give Local York Fest hosted by the Margaret E. Moul Home. The event brought together several local organizations, including the Arc of York & Adams Counties, York Literacy Institute, Bell Socialization, Typical Life Corporation, Bell Socialization, and Right Foot Ranch, offering community members the opportunity to connect directly with nonprofits and learn more about their work.
“We’re grateful to everyone who supported the FirstCap Gives Back Foundation during Give Local York,” said Victoria Ernest, Community Engagement Coordinator. “It was incredible to see the community come together, not only through donations but also through in-person events like the Give Local York Fest.”
The funds raised will support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to invest in programs and partnerships that strengthen the York County community.
