FirstLight Federal Credit Union, a member-driven cooperative focused on “improving lives and achieving dreams”, recently launched its BETTER IS ABOUT TO GET BETTER Rewards Loyalty Program—a proprietary service solution to enhance the member’s engagement and experience.
For new and existing members, points will be earned just by using their debit or credit card, making timely loan payments, and having their mortgage with the Credit Union. Members can redeem those earned points for cash back, loan rate discount, and share certificate bump. Better yet, their points can qualify for fee reversals on non-FirstLight ATM fees, money orders, non-sufficient funds (NSF), and skip-a-pay convenience fees.
“We are extremely thankful to our loyal members and participating team members for inspiring us to create a program that is relevant and innovative” stated Jim Huff, Chief Retail Officer. Adding “member feedback was a driving force to build an independent, value-added service platform that is simple and fun to track.”
Karl Murphy, President and CEO agreed, stating “the goal with all of our products and services is to create strong and long-lasting relationships. This is no exception and I am excited to provide extra value to our hard-working members.”
FirstLight has been extremely busy with the new, normal environment. Outside of the better Rewards Loyalty Program, the Credit Union successfully launched a Live Video Banking Service where members can speak virtually to a representative to answer general banking inquiries, apply for a loan, request a wire transfer, and even apply for membership from their comfort of their home using innovative web technology. In addition, FirstLight is one of the first financial institutions in the El Paso market offering contactless ‘tap to pay’ debit cards. They too just launched FLIGHT—a financial education tool for kids, teens, and young adults.
