In announcing Mr. Fogle’s retirement, Board Chair Mimi O’Brien said “Lee has provided strong leadership for many years. He always places the needs of the Members first and this focus has been integral to building the Duke Credit Union into the excellent organization it is today.”
During Mr. Fogle’s tenure at Duke Credit Union, new products and services have been added such as debit cards, mortgages, ATMs, online and mobile services. In 2008, under Fogle’s direction the Credit Union transitioned to an enhanced full service facility where he implemented a comprehensive financial education center fully staffed by two financial guidance counselors. The Credit Union’s assets have grown by 400% during Mr. Fogle’s term as CEO.
After announcing his retirement, Mr. Fogle stated “I am retiring from the Duke Credit Union with great mixed emotions. I have served the Membership with pride over these years. I will miss the Board, Members, and Staff. Without the support of our extraordinary management team and staff, we would not be nearly as successful as we have been”.

He also has served the credit union community with distinction during his time at Duke. He was Board Chair of the First Carolina Corporate Credit Union, served on numerous state and national committees, instrumental in beginning a regional Credit Union CEO roundtable, and was on the faculty of the National Association of Federal Credit Union’s Management Leadership Institute.
