Former Neighbors Fede Credit Union CEO, Kathi Gill, inducted into the Louisiana Credit Union League Hall of Fame
HARAHAN, LA (August 10, 2016) — Fifteen credit union leaders from Louisiana were inducted into the Louisiana Credit Union Hall of Fame recently during the Louisiana Credit Union League’s (LCUL) annual meeting and convention in New Orleans. Among them was former Neighbors Federal Credit Union (Neighbors FCU) CEO, Kathi Gill. The hall of fame recognizes credit union professionals and volunteers who have brought valuable leadership, commitment, dedication or contributions to the state’s credit union movement.
“Throughout her career at Neighbors, Kathi has been a strong leader and dedicated role model for the Neighbors team and the community,” says Grady Hazel, Board Chair for Neighbors. “Her years of service and dedication have guided the credit union through remarkable growth and market transition. With this foundation, Neighbors will continue to move forward, embracing technology and innovation in financial services.”
One of the hallmarks of Kathi’s tenure was her commitment to community service. Under her leadership, Neighbors Federal Credit Union provided over $500,000 in sponsorships, fundraising, and in-kind donations to local non-profits. She oversaw the creation of the award-winning Neighbors FCU financial literacy program, Neighbors Foundation and was involved in numerous community outreach organizations serving as the Board of Directors Vice President for Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area and Sexual Trauma Awareness & Response Center (STAR).
LCUL has built a special wall at the league’s headquarters on which it displays the names of those who have been inducted into the hall of fame. Further, a $500 donation has been made to the Louisiana Credit Union Foundation in the name of each inductee this year.
