FORUM Credit Union Celebrates National Credit Union Youth Week

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (April 17, 2013) – FORUM Credit Union will be celebrating National Credit Union Youth Week at all FORUM branch locations April 22 through April 27. National Credit Union Youth Week was created by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in 2001 as an opportunity for credit unions across the country to focus on the financial needs of young people and provide financial literacy education. The event focuses on teaching the benefits of saving and goal setting.

By participating in National Credit Union Youth Week, FORUM hopes to continue its commitment to helping kids and teens become financially aware and create good financial habits. FORUM offers a full suite of youth savings and checking accounts.  FORUM’s Aware account teaches kids the importance of spending, saving and sharing their money while rewarding them for making regular deposits.  FORUM’s Sprout account is designed to help save for important future expenses.  FORUM also offers the Student Survival account, a student checking account for those 16 to 24 years old.

This year’s National Credit Union Youth Week theme is “Savings Sleuth, Solve the Mystery” and encourages kids to solve the savings mystery.  FORUM’s events will include activities, giveaways, prizes, and two enter to win contests with prizes including a Toys R Us gift card and Apple gift card. FORUM will deposit $5 into any new Aware or Sprout account that is opened during the week.  FORUM will also deposit $10 into any free Student Survival account that is opened.
