FORUM Foundation announces 2016-2017 educator grant recipients

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (October 20, 2016) — FORUM Credit Union is pleased to announce that the FORUM Foundation has awarded over $25,000 to 19 educators throughout central Indiana for the 2016-2017 school year.

The Foundation was established to strengthen the communities FORUM serves by enhancing educational opportunities through both collegiate scholarships and educator grants. Educator grants are available to teachers who are FORUM members and to those who work for a partnering school district.

In its three years as an organization, the FORUM Foundation has awarded nearly $76,000 in grants to more than 20 school districts throughout central Indiana. This year, the Foundation received applications from more than 230 educators requesting over $470,000 for educational tools from several disciplines including STEM, literacy, art, music, and physical education.

The recipients of the 2016-2017 FORUM Foundation educator grants include:  Erin Amones – Doe Creek Middle School, Jamie Beck – Southwest Elementary School, Catherine Brinkerhoff – Brownsburg Community School, Douglas Brown – Noblesville West Middle School, Cathleen Clady – IPS #34, Kathy Drake – Pleasant View Elementary School, Melody Gayle – Break-O-Day Elementary School, Tracie Greene – Smoky Row Elementary School, Karen Hovanec – Cathedral High School, Kylie Keevy – Harshman Middle School, Jennifer Marlow – Carmel Clay, Theresa Mendez – Central Catholic School, Terry Mitchell – Guion Creek Intermediate, Nicole Monkul – Brooks School Elementary School, Ryan Morphew – Options Noblesville, David Nelson – Indian Creek Elementary School, Carla Redden – Stonybrook Middle School, Helen Shere – Herron High School, Gwen Wieczorek – St. Theodore Guerin High School.

Through educator grants and collegiate scholarships, the FORUM Foundation continues to give back to our community in a way that impacts and supports the advancement of our youth.  Applications for next year’s educator grants will open in July of 2017. Additionally, collegiate scholarship applications for the 2017-2018 academic year are currently open through February 1, 2017.
