Foundation announces new director of Philanthropy

MADISON, WI (January 18, 2018) — The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) has announced the addition of Rebecca Dopart as the new Director of Philanthropy, effective January 16, 2018.

In this newly created role, Dopart will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Foundation’s philanthropic fundraising efforts and resource development to help the Foundation grow revenue and assets.

“I am very excited about the addition of Rebecca to the Foundation team,” said Gigi Hyland, Foundation Executive Director. “Her strong background in non-profit philanthropy and donor development will serve extremely valuable as we continue to expand our fundraising initiatives in 2018.”

Dopart is new to the credit union movement, but comes to the Foundation with over 14 years of experience in non-profits. She has held a variety of positions over her career, including volunteering for the United States Peace Corps in Poland, serving as the Multicultural Awareness Trainer for the University of Wisconsin Madison Extension, and an impressive career at Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR). At WPR, she has held the positions of Corporate Development Officer, Membership Director, and the Director of Development.

Most recently, Dopart served as the Development Director at End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin where she worked collaboratively with community partners and statewide board of directors to build awareness and meet the fundraising goals of the organization.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Foundation at a time when they are experiencing year over year increases in donor support and at the same time, bursting with opportunities in development,” said Dopart. “It is clear that the Foundation’s already-strong philanthropic program is ripe with potential, which means we are on the cusp of a new level of impact with our support to credit unions. Strength, potential and a mission that improves all of our communities; I can’t imagine a more exciting opportunity and I am deeply grateful to now be a part of this movement.”
