Foundation receives Diamond Awards for outstanding achievements in marketing & business development

Two honors received for efforts leveraging video and financial education

The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) was honored this week with two Diamond Awards – awards that recognize outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry.

“The Diamond Awards competition represents the pinnacle of credit union marketing and business development,” said Andy Reed, Chair of the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council, and President and CEO, Texas People FCU. “Honoring credit unions in 30 categories, ranging from brand awareness to website, social media to mobile marketing, credit unions and individuals that receive these awards represent the very best of the best in their profession.”

The Foundation received the two Diamond Awards for the following projects:

  • “Retire on Track” Retirement Fair – The new Foundation program won a Diamond Award in the “Financial Education” category. The interactive fair assists credit unions with helping their members and staff better prepare for retirement.
  • “When it Comes to Financial Freedom, I’m a Lost Cause” Video – The Foundation video, produced for the 2015 National Credit Union Foundation Dinner Presenting the Herb Wegner Memorial Awards, won a Diamond Award in the new “Video” category. The video uses a palindrome-type poem to reflect credit unions’ and the Foundations’ work to improve people’s financial lives.

“This is a huge honor for the Foundation and proves we are on the right track,” said Christopher Morris, Foundation Director of Communications. “For example, we’ve already seen tremendous impact and interest from credit union organizations around our new Retirement Fair. Having the fair win a Diamond Award is icing on the cake.”

The awards were presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of over 1,200 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Award winners were recognized at the council’s 23rd annual conference held March 20-23 in Anaheim, California.
