Fourteenth annual Supplies for Students

DEER PARK, TX (August 17, 2023) — The Fourteenth Annual Supplies for Students Fundraiser has wrapped up on a high note, all thanks to the incredible teamwork of the Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team in collaboration with Shell Federal Credit Union (Shell FCU). Together, we’ve managed to gather and purchase a heartwarming total of 2,146 much-needed school supplies, and we owe this success to the wonderful support of Shell FCU members, our dedicated employees, and the amazing local community.

During the month of April, the FCU Team joined forces with an outstanding group of schools for the annual “Everyone’s Gotta Eat” food drive. Notably, our partners included San Jacinto Elementary, Fairmont Elementary, Rizzuto Elementary, La Porte Elementary, Landolt Elementary, Mae Symthe Elementary, North Shore Elementary, and Lakeland Elementary. This initiative served as a unifying force, rallying unwavering support for nearby food banks and shelters through the collection of essential nonperishable food items.

As an expression of our gratitude for their invaluable support, the participating schools will be recipients of the school supplies we’ve collected. This act of appreciation reflects our deep-rooted belief in the power of collaboration and community, and we are honored to acknowledge their pivotal role in this meaningful endeavor.
