Freedom Credit Union Wins the 2011 Diamond Award for Website Marketing

(May 20, 2011) – The Marketing and Business Development Council of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) has awarded Freedom Credit Union the 2011 Diamond Award for Website Marketing in the $250-$499 million assets category. The website marketing nominees were judged on the website’s total concept.
The Freedom website relaunched on November 19, 2008 featuring improved accessibility to online banking, financial calculators, live chat for support, and expanded financial education features. Since the 2008 relaunch, the Freedom website has experienced a 65% growth in visitors.
Graphic design and layout work is done by SmartSolutions, a web services CUSO of Corporate America Credit Union. SmartSolutions also enables the Freedom marketing department to directly update the website with a content management system. Daily updates of Freedom’s promotions and events are posted to the website, including Member discounts, seminar annoucements and rate information.
The Diamond Awards were created in 2001 to recognize excellence in credit union marketing and business development. Awards were given out in 33 categories, including youth marketing, email marketing and direct mail, with sub-categories according to assets from less than $100 million to $1 billion and above. The awards were given at the Recognition Dinner at the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council’s 18th Annual Conference.
