Frontier Financial Credit Union pursuing merger with Greater Nevada Credit Union

RENO, NV (June 14, 2017) — Frontier Financial Credit Union (FFCU) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors is pursuing a merger with Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU).

Through the proposed merger, FFCU members will become members of GNCU, and FFCU employees will join the GNCU team. FFCU’s two branches in Reno and Sparks will remain open and become GNCU branches.

“Today’s regulatory requirements make it increasingly more difficult for credit unions of our size to continue operating in a manner that can best serve our members,” said FFCU President/CEO Bruce Rodela. “GNCU is a long time friend of ours in the credit union industry and shares our local history, member service philosophy, and commitment to community.”

GNCU President/CEO Wally Murray said, “We are honored that Frontier Financial Credit Union has selected us as a partner to serve its membership and provide new opportunities to its staff.  We admire the work they have done over the years and look forward to collaborating with them throughout this merger process.”

The proposed merger is currently undergoing regulatory approval, and the credit union is preparing to put the merger to an FFCU member vote.
