Gala to honor military, community, and homefront heroes

Medal of Honor recipient retired Army Captain Florent Groberg among honorees

TYSONS, VA (May 6, 2016) — The PenFed Foundation’s signature fundraising event—its 12th annual Night of Heroes Gala, will honor the nation’s defenders and those who support them.

WHAT: This black-tie event draws military, government and industry leaders from the Greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Honorees will be recognized for their service and sacrifice at home, in the community, and for the nation. All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the PenFed Foundation’s efforts to assist service members and veterans with securing a future of strength and stability.

WHO: Catherine Herridge, Chief Intelligence Correspondent for Fox News, will emcee the gala. Notable attendees include:

  • United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs, the Honorable Robert McDonald
  • Secretary of the Air Force, the Honorable Deborah Lee James
  • Medal of Honor recipient retired Army Captain, Florent Groberg, Military Hero Award honoree
  • Julie Keys, Hero at Home Award honoree and her son, retired Army Staff Sergeant, Adam Keys
  • Vice Chairman of the First Data Board of Directors, Joe Plumeri, Community Hero Award honoree
