Gateway Services Group (“GSG”) founder rappell’s off building to raise money for cancer research

Denver, CO – On August 28th, Gateway Services Group (“GSG”) president and founder, Scott Jentz, rappelled down a 27 story building to raise money for cancer research in Colorado.  When his friend and business associate, Steve Markwell, passed away earlier this year after complications from esophageal cancer, Jentz wanted to do something to both honor Steve, and help support the effort to find a cure for this type of cancer.

Jentz said, “It’s tough to watch anyone go through what Steve and his family went through earlier this year. I was honored to do something that could help fund research efforts. I was humbled by the outpouring of support from friends, family, and business associates within the credit union community.  With everyone’s help, we were able to help raise over $152,000 for the Cancer League of Colorado (CLC).”  The money raised by Jentz will be earmarked to fund research grants specifically related to esophageal cancer.

CLC is a non-profit organization composed entirely of volunteers. Unique to non-profits, Cancer League has no paid staff and no offices. All operating expenses are covered by membership dues.  Cancer League now has more than 400 volunteer members who share the commitment to fight cancer.  Scott Jentz is an active member of the CLC Corporate Advisory Board, and several employees of GSG are CLC members and have held various volunteer positions over the years.
