If you’ve worked in the credit union world anytime over the last four decades, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Gay Parvazi or at least felt her influence. This year, Gay’s incredible career is being celebrated with her induction into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders, one of the industry’s most meaningful honors.
Gay’s journey started back in 1984 at the Louisiana Credit Union League, where she quickly found her calling through telling the credit union story and helping institutions grow through marketing, education, and advocacy. She later took those talents to Greater New Orleans FCU, leading marketing and business development and laying the groundwork for future growth.
In 1998, she took a bold step and launched Parvazi Consulting, working with credit unions across the industry on everything from strategic planning and branding to disaster recovery and financial literacy. Her ability to connect with people and bring credit union values to life made her a trusted guide for institutions big and small.
Today, Gay continues to wear multiple hats. She serves as Director of Marketing and Business Development at UNO FCU and still consults with credit unions through her firm. Her work has earned numerous accolades, including CUNA Diamond Awards and recognition from Luminate (formerly the Louisiana Credit Union League).
The Credit Union House Hall of Leaders honors those whose leadership has left a lasting mark on the credit union industry. With nearly 40 years of service, Gay Parvazi has more than earned her place among its most dedicated champions.
