Auburn Hills, MI, December 27, 2010 – Genisys Credit Union donated 10% of their 2009-2010 Sprint marketing reimbursement to Biz Kid$ last week.
Over $5,200 was presented to Curt Belaney, CU Solutions Group/Invest In America National Business Consultant, on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 to support the Biz Kid$ initiative.
“We’re happy to be able to help fund this great program that educates kids about financial literacy,” said Jackie Buchanan, Chief Executive Officer.
Biz Kid$ is a ½ hour weekly public TV series where kids teach kids about money and business. It’s targeted to kids ages 6-12+ and covers topics such as the importance of saving, budgeting, investing and giving back to the community.
The program has aired on PBS since January 2009 and is underwritten by America’s Credit Unions. It’s produced in High Definition (HD) by the creators of Bill Nye the Science Guy.
“Genisys hopes to continue to support this educational resource in the future,” said Buchanan. “It’s important to teach young consumers about money management, and this program seems to be extremely successful in reaching that demographic.”
