Auburn Hills, MI, November 22, 2010 – The Michigan Credit Union League recognized Genisys Credit Union for their community support, awarding them with a statewide Dora Maxwell Award.
Genisys was selected as the 1st Place Winner for their involvement and dedication to the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency’s (OLHSA) Walk for Warmth, which is an annual fundraising event to help heat the homes of residents in need throughout Oakland County. Genisys raised over $32,700 to assist in keeping our community warm during the winter season.
“We are honored to receive such a prestigious award for our partnership with OLHSA,” said Tom Alter, President/Chief Operations Officer. “Genisys has supported this event for many years, and it’s a cause that has become even more important as more and more people need assistance. We are happy to be able to do what we can to help raise money.”
The award is part of an annual program through the MCUL and the Credit Union National Association to recognize credit unions that are making a difference in their communities. The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Recognition Award is given to a credit union for an external project with a positive impact on the community.
