Genisys follows the yellow brick road to the Troy Historic Village

TROY, MI (October 21, 2013) -- Genisys Credit Union, which provides services to anyone who lives or works in the Lower Peninsula, is sponsoring The Troy Historic Village’s fabulous Halloween event on Saturday, October 26 from 1-3 pm, “Trick or Treat on the Green: Halloween with L. Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz.”

Join Genisys Credit Union at the Village for the annual Halloween event, where they will celebrate L. Frank Baum’s 14 magical Oz novels. Grab your oil can, courage, and ruby slippers to travel the Village for trick or treating and much more. While you are there, be sure to visit “Scarecrow Row,” a row of family friendly scarecrows along the Village fence, trick-or-treat from building to building collecting candy & mini pumpkins provided by the Troy Garden Club, and make a cool craft.

“This event brings a lot of excitement to the Troy community and provides a unique way for families to enjoy all of the fun festivities that fall has to offer,” said Jackie Buchanan, President/CEO.

Kids in costume 12 and under are admitted to the Village free with paying adult or senior. Adults $5, Seniors $3.  Park at Zion Church, 3668 Livernois, south of Wattles Road, and ride the free shuttle bus to the Village. Admission is $5.

“The village is a great backdrop for children to trick or treat in a fun and safe environment while learning about history,” Village Executive Director Loraine Campbell said.  “We are so appreciative of Genisys Credit Union for their continuous community support.”
