Genisys Credit Union sponsored the Marysville Police Department’s Annual Bike Rodeo on May 28, 2010. The event provides all 4th graders in Marysville the opportunity to learn about bike safety and see a live stunt show.
Students were shown how to inspect their bikes for safety, tighten nuts and bolts, adjust the seat and handlebars and oil the chain. A station was also set up to check bike helmets for safety and proper fit.

“We are fortunate in this community to have such wonderful cooperation between the Marysville Police Department, local businesses and the schools,” said Kathy Sheldon, Marysville Branch Manager.
As part of Genisys Credit Union’s sponsorship, they brought out the Kona Ice truck and staff members helped serve food.

“I cannot thank Genisys enough for helping us with this year’s annual Bike Rodeo,” said Officer Matthew Scheffler, Marysville Police Department. “We were blessed with a beautiful day and everything went off without a hitch. The 4th graders from all three elementary schools had a great day. On behalf of Officer Levey, Officer Disser, our clerical staff, and myself, we would like to thank Genisys and the Marysville branch for their contribution to that day’s success. Without everyone who participated, it would not have gone so well.”

A special thanks to the Marysville DPW, Marysville Fire Department, Marysville Police Explorers, Marysville Recreation Department, Meijer, Port Huron Hospital, and the Viking Twist for making the day a great success.
