Genisys Takes Tickets at Taste

Auburn Hills, MI, October 18, 2011 – Genisys Credit Union was the Major Sponsor for the 14th Annual Taste of Clarkston recently, which included sponsorship of the entertainment stage.
The event, held on Main Street in historic downtown Clarkston, attracted 36 participating restaurants and over 17,000 food lovers. The Clarkston Union won the People’s Choice (top seller) for the 7th year in a row. Live music, free KidZone activities and sidewalk sales were also part of the festivities for people of all ages to enjoy.
“Taste of Clarkston exceeded all of our goals this year, providing an outstanding family friendly block party in historic downtown Clarkston,” said Penny Shanks, Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “Live entertainment on two stages had people dancing in the streets. Two amazing KidZones were in constant use throughout the day. The perfect weather was just icing on the cake.”
Over 300 volunteers donated their time to the event including several Genisys staff who helped sell tickets again this year.
“This event really brings together Clarkston and the surrounding communities,” said Jackie Buchanan, CEO. “It’s a great way to showcase everything that Clarkston has to offer.”
Genisys is the sponsor of several other events in the Clarkston community this year including the Clarkston High School All Night Party and Team RUSH.
