Georgia United Credit Union announces promotion of Michelle Shelton to Chief Development Officer

DULUTH, GA (January 15, 2014) -- Georgia United Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Michelle Shelton to Chief Development Officer. In this new position, Michelle will lead and direct the Marketing, Business Development and Staff Development efforts for the almost $1 billion organization.  Michelle joined Georgia United as Vice President of Marketing in May, 2013 to develop Marketing and Business Development strategy for the Credit Union. 

Prior to joining Georgia United, Michelle had a 20+ year career with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), where she held various leadership positions. Starting in the RBC branch network and working her way throughout the organization, her last five years were spent at RBC headquarters where she was responsible for leveraging local markets to build brand and increase customer awareness.  While at RBC, Michelle also coordinated the Olympic Torch Relay, Social Media and “Free the Children” programs.

A native of Canada, Michelle holds a Master of Business Administration from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, and now lives in Duluth, GA.
