Georgia United Credit Union to host Shred Day event Saturday

DULUTH, GA (June 10, 2016) — Georgia United Credit Union, in partnership with Iron Mountain, will host a free community Shred Day event Saturday at its Stockbridge branch.

Organizers said the event, from 9 a.m. until noon, is open to Georgia United members and the local community as an opportunity to safely destroy sensitive, personal documents in an environmentally friendly way.

Guests are invited to bring up to three boxes of personal documents such as old checks, forms and statements with personal information.

Staples and paper clips do not need to be removed for the process, said credit union officials, noting that Iron Mountain will safely dispose of the documents in a mobile destruction truck, which will be in the branches parking lot at 105 North Park Trail in Stockbridge.

Documents will be immediately shredded on-site and recycled. For more information about the credit union, visit gucu.org.
