Gerber Federal Credit Union (Gerber FCU) today announced several promotions. Ellen Davis to Vice President - Human Resources, Heather Wiersema to Marketing Officer, Jessica Broad to Assistant Vice President - Compliance & Risk Management, Tina Spoelman to Senior Information Technology Manager.

Ms. Davis joined the credit union as the Human Resources Professional in 2003 and was promoted to Assistant Vice President - Human Resources in 2012. Davis is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources from payroll, benefits administration, and Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations/administration to organizational development and facilitation. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, she participates in the strategic planning process, budget development, organizational development, and annual operational plan development. Davis participates actively with her dogs in various dog sports and volunteers with the Muskegon Area District Library Reader Dog program and in a variety of ways with various animal rescue organizations. She has been a member of the Muskegon Lakeshore Obedience Training Club for over 15 years. She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute as well as a SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) certification.
Ms. Wiersema joined the credit union as the Marketing Manager in 2004. Wiersema is responsible for all aspects of marketing, advertising, public relations, member event planning and business relationship development. She has volunteered for numerous community associations and charitable organizations such as American Cancer Society Relay for Life, March of Dimes March for Babies, Fremont Tennis Association and the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce. Wiersema holds the Credit Union Certified Marketing Executive (CUCME) certification from the Credit Union National Association.
Ms. Broad joined the credit union as part-time Teller in 2005 and served as Mortgage Processor prior to becoming Compliance Officer in 2014. Broad will continue to lead the internal audit and compliance departments responsible for ensuring the strength of the compliance program, including policies and procedures that are designed to safeguard credit union assets and comply with all state, federal and local regulations. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, she participates in the strategic planning process, budget development, organizational development, and annual operational plan development. She volunteers as a member of the Michigan Credit Union League State and Federal Issues Working Group and holds the Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) and Certified Risk Manager (NCRM) certifications from the National Association of Federal Credit Unions.
Ms. Spoelman joined the credit union as an Information Systems college intern in 2007 and has held numerous positions with increasing responsibility in the Information Technology Department. Spoelman will continue to lead the Information Technology Department and is responsible for networking systems, computer hardware and software and all of the technology needs of the organization including the various digital channels available to membership. She has volunteered with Upward Sports, Ravenna 5th Quarters, the United Way and has held various leadership positions at First Reformed Church of Ravenna.
