Golden 1 Credit Union continues to invest in California’s future leaders with its scholarship program
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 17, 2016) — Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) recently announced that applications are now open for its annual scholarship program, which awards $400,000 in scholarships to qualified students. Golden 1 scholarships from $1,000 to $5,000 annually are awarded to members and their dependents who exhibit excellence in academics, community involvement, and extracurricular activities.

Golden 1 scholarships provide financial assistance for full-time students who plan to attend a nonprofit, two-year community college or an accredited, nonprofit, four-year college or university in California. Eligible applicants must have earned a 3.0 or higher grade point average, maintained involvement in extracurricular activities for a minimum of 24 hours over the last year, and be a current Golden 1 member or dependent of a member for a minimum of one year.
Since 2013, Golden 1 has invested more than $1.4 million in total scholarship funds awarding 136 scholarships to well-deserving students. Applications are accepted until Jan. 31, 2017.
