(Albany, NY) – The CUNA Mutual Group Golf Tournament, recently held at the Sagamore Resort Golf Course, raised more than $27,000 for the New York Credit Union Foundation. One hundred and forty-four golf enthusiasts from credit unions across the state, along with vendors and credit union friends, came out to support the Foundation’s initiatives through their participation.
“CUNA Mutual was proud to support the New York Credit Union Foundation and its mission to serve those who improve the financial literacy and independence of New Yorkers,” said Sales Manager Chris Guild. “As a trustee and golf committee co-chair, I would like to thank all the vendors and credit unions that helped move the Foundation cause forward with their generous support of the 2012 Tournament.” Guild served with John Prumo, CEO at GPO FCU, as golf committee co-chair.
Dannemora FCU’s foursome won the tournament for the second year in a row. Coming in second place was a foursome of players from Bethpage FCU. The third-place foursome represented School Systems FCU and Alloya Corporate FCU.
“We couldn’t have asked for better weather,” said Allison Barna, director of NYCUF. “Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and everyone who came out to play, the Foundation can better support its outreach initiatives and grant funding to credit unions across the state.”
Tournament sponsors included: Title Sponsor CUNA Mutual Group; Professional Sponsor Vining Sparks; Amateur Sponsors: SEFCU and Melrose CU; and Major Sponsors Adirondack Chapter, Alloya Corporate FCU, AmeriCU Credit Union, Bethpage FCU, Covera, GPO FCU, Montauk FCU and The Summit FCU.
