Great Lakes Credit Union announces new Chief Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer

BANNOCKBURN, IL (February 24, 2020) — Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU), a Chicago-area based not-for-profit financial cooperative is pleased to announce the promotion of Michael Hersh to Chief Human Resources and Organizational Development Officer effective January 2020. In this new role, he will continue to lead the credit union’s talent management, cultural transformation, and employee development initiatives.

“It’s with great pleasure to announce Michael’s promotion. He has been instrumental in our journey to transform our culture in the short time he has been with GLCU. His experience, skills and passion for our team members have improved our organizational climate. I look forward in having Michael join our Executive Leadership Team and continuing his ongoing contributions.” said Steve Bugg, President and CEO of Great Lakes Credit Union.

Michael holds the SHRM-SCP and SPHR designations in his field along with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. He also volunteers in his community and has held numerous leadership roles for Glenwood Academy, March of Dimes, and Boy Scouts of America.
