BANNOCKBURN, IL (February 16, 2016) — Each year Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) is proud to give back to the community and offer help to those who need it most. In 2015, GLCU’s employees voted in favor of supporting two charities, On Angels’ Wings and CU4Kids. Throughout the course of the year, GLCU employees and members raised $10,000 to share with both charities. Monies were raised through GLCU’s pledge to contribute $1.00 for each new member who joined the credit union in 2015. Donations were also made by members and employees at branches and community events, such as the Peanuts Movie Benefit Night hosted by the Antioch Theatre.
On Angels’ Wings is a local no-kill, animal welfare organization whose mission is to provide shelter and foster care, adoption of dogs and cats, supply needy families through their pet food pantry, and animal welfare education.
CU4Kids is a national collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations and business partners engaged in fundraising activities to benefit Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals. The local CMN Hospital is the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
