BANNOCKBURN, IL (October 15, 2015) — Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) reached another milestone on Tuesday, October 13th when it opened its 13th branch in the Chicagoland area. The newest branch is located in Woodstock, IL, at 180 S. Eastwood Dr. – adjacent to the McDonald’s, across from Jewel-Osco on Route 47.
“We are thrilled to be in McHenry County,” says Vikki Kaiser, President and CEO of GLCU. “We look forward to serving the needs of our newest members and helping them reach their financial goals.” GLCU opened its first McHenry County branch in Crystal Lake in early September. This latest branch in Woodstock increases the credit union’s member reach into the far northwest suburbs.
Carol Knudsen was the first member in the door on Tuesday. “I’m so excited about the new branch,” says Knudsen. “I couldn’t wait to come in this morning. It’s like visiting your family.” Knudsen has been a member of GLCU since 1986.
The Woodstock branch will be celebrating its Grand Opening the entire month of October. Everyone is encouraged to stop in. The first 300 visitors at the Woodstock branch will receive a welcome gift and be entered in a drawing to win a goody basket full of items from local Woodstock businesses. Any member who opens a new home equity loan, an Ultimate Checking account or an auto loan within the first 30 days of the branch opening will receive a $100 gift card.
